Spooktacular Halloween Crafts for Kids

Hello fellow moms and crafty enthusiasts! Halloween is just around the corner, and our household is buzzing with excitement as we dive into some ghostly, pumpkin-filled, and haunted crafting adventures. Here are some of the fun Halloween crafts we’ve been up to with our little ones:

Ghostly Swipe Paintings

One of the simplest yet most enjoyable crafts we’ve tried is creating ghostly swipe paintings. We started by pouring a little paint in a half circle shape on grey or dark colored card stock and then we used a card to swipe the paint downwards. The kids absolutely loved this technique, and it created ghostly shapes with ease. To finish them off, we let the kids draw spooky ghost faces or stick on googly eyes for that extra eerie touch. It’s an easy and mess-free project that even the youngest ones can enjoy.

Swipe-Painted Halloween Cats and Pumpkins

Building on the swipe painting technique, we also tried our hand at Halloween-themed cats and pumpkins. The swipe technique worked wonders for creating whimsical feline silhouettes and but the pumpkins round shape was a little more challenging . To make up for our wonky pumpkin shapes, we added some green pipe cleaner for a 3D vine effect.ย

Metallic Painted Ceramic Pumpkins

For a touch of elegance and shimmer, we decided to paint ceramic pumpkins from Hobby Lobby with metallic paint and glitter. Our little toddlers had a blast as they let their imagination run wild with colors and sparkles. It’s a craft that not only adds a unique touch to your Halloween decor but also brings out the artist in every child.

Haunted Gingerbread Houses

Halloween wouldn’t be complete without some spooky gingerbread houses! We do them every year! I really love the kits that come with 3 or 4 mini houses so we don’t have to buy them each one. They worked together in pairs to create spooky and haunted designs, and then, in the end, they demolished their creations and ate a few bites of candy. My favorite part was when Emma went for the black iced and sprinkled cat cookie which dyed her hands and mouth black! My sister had a mom moment proclaiming “I am not the Messy mom! Why did she have to choose the black cookie!”ย ๐Ÿ˜‚

Crafting together during this magical time of year is a fantastic way to bond with our little ones and create lasting memories. These Halloween crafts are not only fun but also help our kids develop their creativity and fine motor skills. We hope you’ll give them a try and create your own memorable Halloween crafting moments with your family. Wishing you a spooktacular Halloween filled with creativity and fun! ๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿ‘ป
